“”Tidying up” before the RAMS Super Bowl Win !!!

A couple of things are influencing me this week: Marie Kondo’s Netflix Series, “Tidying Up” and the Super Bowl Game this Sunday between the LA Rams and the New England Patriots.  (February 3rd, 2019)

One subject is way out of my circle of influence and the other is staring me in the face as I look at my file cabinet that is filed with papers I need to eliminate.  As the little 4 ft 9 inch Marie Kondo proclaims, “if it doesn’t spark joy, toss it!! Not sure that applies to business contracts but my closet awaits my attention as well and that needs a refresh!!Truthfully, I can’t wait to fold my tops into tight thirds that can be stood up and arranged vertically!

I did a little research and there is some sharp contrasts between the Rams & Patriots…

  1. Ram’s Quarterback Jared Goff  24 years old. Tom Brady is 41 years old.  “The 17-year age difference is almost surely the largest of any Super Bowl in history. After all, there’s only been one 40-plus-year-old quarterback to start a Super Bowl. It was Brady, last year.Rams quarterback Jared Goff, left, and New England’s Tom Brady.
  2. Patriot’s Coach Bill Belichick is 66 years old. Ram’s coach Sean McVay is 33 years old. The 33-year age gap between coaches is a Super Bowl record.

Bill Belichick

3.Patriot’s owner Robert Kraft’s influence in the football world has grown steadily since he purchased the Patriots, to the point that the 77-year-old American is now widely considered one of the NFL’s most powerful and influential owners.

Rams owner, Stan Kroenke, does not have a great reputation or a great fashion hair piece that he wears on his head, BUT he did bring the Rams to LA and he is building a great stadium in Culver City !

Stan Kroenke

So after Motown’s Glady’s Knight sings the National Anthem and the games begins, I will look forward to half time with Maroon 5  although nothing can surpass Madonna & LMFAO’s half time in 2012!

I’ll miss my old tribe gathering (2013) at The Leiviska’s but look forward to a different gathering with Jeff Holloway & son with girlfriend Jasmine at the Malibu Racquet Club! No cooking, no hassle just pure spectator bliss at it’s best !!!!

My score predication:Rams 37 Patriots 31 !!!!!!!

What’s your predicted score ??????

Time for a Spa “Bliss” Treatment in La La Land…

With tax receipt sorting deadlines, scanning my life photos & videos to a digital format, and getting ready Super Bowl travel for my client’s son, I need some personal attention!

My skin is dry from the extra heat in my bungalow, my bones ache from walks in the woods or not enough walks, so it’s time for Emerald City.   Emerald City is the term my friend Robin Brazy and I code to each other when in company.  It means either, manicure/pedicure time, hair grooming or local massage, just like Dorothy and her cohorts did before they met the Wizard!  Our Emerald City is Olympic Spa in Korea Town, and what a find! I guess I’ve been going for at least 30 years and have witnessed the evolution from a small time Asian day retreat, to a multi-cultural, all ages clientele sprinkled with a top model & actress presence.

Pure Bliss is an hour & ½ treatment performed in an open shared no-nonsense atmosphere.  No guitar- flute-waterfall music, no incense just the Korean ladies, outfitted in flip flops and their black bra & panties, who scrub, scrap, slap and throw buckets of warm water to wash away the crepe skin and toxins.   I LOVE IT !!! Description is below and may I recommend all of us in our Final Chapter living to continue these great treatments or start as soon as you can!

If you have a favorite “Emerald City” experience you would like to share, please do….

“Life Itself” by Dan Fogelman Six Degrees of Separation

I highly recommend Amazon Prime’s movie “Life Itself” written, produced & directed by Dan Fogelman…. “Packs in enough narrative twists and turns to leave viewers with a sense of emotional whiplash. One tragedy bleeds into another so often that the events begin to blur. How like life itself.

Explaining the concept of 6 degrees….everybody on this planet is separated by only six other people. Six degrees of separation between us and everyone else on this planet.!   Today techies and coders use it in as an optimal algorithm to calculate degrees of separation in social networks.Anyway…my 6 degrees has to refer to how I was drawn to this film, it’s writing and it’s author…Dan Fogelman is also the Creator of “This is Us” the NBC TV series and I noticed that Ken Olin directed many of the Episodes and he starred and often directed the TV series “Thirty Something” (and often seen at Gelsons in the Palisades where I live)…Now 2 people added to my love of meaningful, sappy “slice of life” stories.

The connective thread I finally realized yesterday is that I had the fun pleasure of meeting Dan Fogelman on the set of “Last Vegas”. My son, Stefan playing his AKA Redfoo in the movie which starred Mike Douglas, Robert DeNiro, Kevin Kline and Morgan Freeman was busy playing his scene and I had a fun conversation with this guy named Dan …Later I found out he wrote this hilarious and friendship driven, meaningful script…”Last Vegas”.

I’m not going to say much more about the film that my sister in law, Sandy Leiviska recommended because  if you want to feel every bump on the movie’s emotional roller coaster, then go in knowing as little about it as possible. Feel what you feel and enjoy the ride!!!!

YIKES! My son wants me to learn to Code !!!

Not sure about this adventure…coding….or converting concepts into binary or hexadecimal symbols !!!!  Just when I’m hearing more “code blue” shout outs in the hospital when visiting friends, now my eye goes to Coding books at Amazon. Or at a time in my life where I should be “fresh, fearless & fabulous” shopping at Macy’s, my son suggests writing HTML, CSS and Javascript on my laptop!

I recently bought this starter book “Get Coding” and pulled out the “Coding Game” that I bought 2 years ago and never opened but somehow I hesitate  to jump in….Please share any of your experiences with coding….love to hear your feedback……Code & Adventure  Nancy (Momfoo)  1-11-19

Write your Intentions & Manifest !

Alright!….. first blog writing on the eve of 2019 !!!   Bringing in the New Year at home !!   Mac Pro laptop on couch, searching for my past “Resolutions” and changing it to “Intentions”.  Listing the most meaningful and significant !! Found out, I haven’t written a list since 2015!   Too busy traveling with my son and his crew to entertain the Party People of the world in exotic popular locations!   This year couldn’t see myself traveling 18 hours to fly to Abu Dhabi to a US Military base and I wasn’t invited.   This was not a big entourage NYE trip….and it’s a quick turn around….Also in the past, I was adopting the new philosophy”Let it Be”, Let Go, just hit the big marks like “set up trust”, install all new windows”, etc and just do your daily lists.  Works fine…especially my daily lists.  It seems if I write my daily “to do”s” down, it gets done and there is an immense satisfication at the end of the day to see the check besides the activity.  My gratitude list has turned into my daily what I did that day list. I have 25 years of black leather bound “American Express” calendar books that lists everyday activities that were done.  Personal & business.  Great stuff…but you know what?….it’s time to go through the stored stuff. I used to write my daily handwritten 3 pages and I had crates of spiral notebooks and one year just threw out bag fulls of writings.  Now I’m keeping my writing habit exercised but training myself to write this blog!  After all I have 2 books to write in the next 2 years..A children’s book with my son and then my Autobiography. ( I keep looking this up to remind myself) An autobiography is a person’s life story, written by that person. The story is usually told in the first person because the writer is the main character of the story. … Unlike memoir that focuses on emotional connection, autobiographies focus on facts. A biography is the story of events and circumstances of a person’s life, written by someone other than that person.  So I got writing to do..and I just finished my Leiviska’s Intentions 2019 Listing 5 things unnder the 5 categories of Spiritually, Personal, Family/Friends, and Career.  Simple to write, and less dramatic than a “Resolution”.   I’m recommending it ….and I would also like to leave you with an intentional image of my committment to eating Vegan/Vegetarian food since 2017…Thanks Isabel for sending me Santa Veggie and thanks Sunil for helping me manifest this 2018 goal of a Momfoo website blog !!!   love & light to all Nancy (Momfoo)
